LifeHub (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use the LifeHub mobile application, website, and related services (the “Service”).

LifeHub is operated by an independent software developer based in Portugal. We act as the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1) Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email address, authentication credentials, and profile preferences.
  • Household data: recipes, meals, grocery lists, budgets, expenses, savings goals, invitations, and membership roles created within shared households.
  • Usage data: actions taken in the app, feature usage, and timestamps.
  • Device & technical data: device identifiers, operating system, app version, language, and crash or diagnostic logs.
  • Communications: messages you send to us, such as support requests or feedback.
  • Optional AI inputs: prompts or contextual information you choose to provide when using AI features or when supplying your own third-party API keys.

2) How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the Service
  • Authenticate users and synchronize household data
  • Enable collaboration within households
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse
  • Respond to support requests and communications
  • Analyze aggregated usage to improve performance and features

3) Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Service you request
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, operate, and improve the Service
  • Consent: for optional features such as AI integrations or non-essential communications
  • Legal obligations: where processing is required by law

4) Sharing & Disclosure

  • Service providers: such as Supabase (authentication, database storage, and synchronization), analytics, and monitoring providers that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
  • Optional AI providers: if you enable AI features or provide your own API keys (for example, OpenAI or similar providers). You control whether data is sent to these services.
  • Household members: content shared within a household is visible to its members and administrators.
  • Legal authorities: if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LifeHub or others.
  • Business transfers: if LifeHub is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to continued protection of your data.

We do not sell your personal data.

5) International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or equivalent legal mechanisms to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

6) Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data unless retention is required by law.

9) Children

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or a higher minimum age where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
